Oppose Diebold Touchscreen Machines for Pima County
Next Tuesday, June 6, the Pima County Board of Supervisors will probably make a decision on whether to acquire touchscreen voting devices, primarily for use by the disabled and for early voting sites. If you share our concern about using these devices that do not have the same paper ballots that our current devices do and present serious problems in accurately tabulating votes, please contact your supervisor to express you concerns. More information is available on AuditAZ.
You can contact all the supervisors online.
Join the Legs for Latas Neighborhood Walks
Saturday June 3 and Tuesday June 6
Our endorsed CD8 candidate Jeff Latas has already reached thousands of voters through walks, phoning, house parties, and other efforts. Please be a part of this effort to elect a true progressive candidate who is with us on all the issues of concern to DFA members - the Iraq war, election integrity, ending fossil fuel dependence and a host of other issues. Saturday walks start at 8:30 from two locations: Latas headquarters at 3325 N. First Ave. and the shopping center at 9130 E Valencia (for people who live on the east side of town). The Tuesday walks will start at 6:30 p.m. from a northwest side location. Food and beverages will be provided. Similar walks will occur through June.
