Come see & discuss "Rethink Afghanistan"
In honor of our veterans, Wednesday, November 11, 2009, Democracy for America – Tucson will show Rethink Afghanistan.
Rethink Afghanistan is a ground-breaking, full-length documentary focusing on the key issues surrounding this war. (see http://rethinkafghanistan.com/videos.php)
Following the video, University of Arizona Professor Richard Eaton, will provide commentary and answer questions. Professor Eaton has lived and traveled extensively in the Middle East. Professor Eaton has additional material showing the oil and gas pipelines – the reason many believe we are sending our service men and women to ‘the graveyard of empires’.
We OWE our all-volunteer service members and the people of Afghanistan a serious effort at understanding the reasons behind US involvement there – an effort to Rethink Afghanistan. Even in today’s economic environment, wasting and destroying lives for purposes having nothing to do with national security risks the supply of volunteers whose sacrifices we so publicly proclaim – and this nation’s already much damaged reputation in the community of nations as a force for good.
Rethink Afghanistan will be shown at 7 PM in the Ward 6 office, 3202 E. 1st St. (1 block east of Country Club). You can park in the lot behind the Ward 6 office. The entrance is on Anderson St.
